Difference between BIOS and UEFI
BIOS basically is an old method used by computers during boot time. It checks on your computer by ensuring that everything is okay via Power On Self Test (POST) before loading the Operating Systems. Unfortunately hackers found a way of compromising BIOS and that is when Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) came in and its now in most computers.
UEFI enables machines boot faster and its more secure compared to BIOS. UEFI supports Guid Partition Tables (GPT) which supports hard disks with a capacity over 2TB
